WHAT SHOULD BE DONE AFTER ACTIVATION (INFLATION) OF THE AIRBAG?
COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE AT THE GARMENT MANUFACTURER
We are a fully authorised Alpinestars TECH-AIR® service partner, having been implementing their airbag system into our products since 2018. Service is carried out directly at our in house manufacturing plant, in the Czech Republic. Thanks to this we are able to provide service, and any required repair to the garment, within 10 working days of receipt.
SCOPE OF AIRBAG VEST SERVICES
- Routine Control - for proper function of the system, the manufacture recommends this check be done annually (no longer than every 24 months). A product specialist will disassemble the system, carefully inspect the surface of the vest, airbag, control unit, cabling and spinal protector. The status of the inflation canisters and complete control system is checked. Once everything is in order the vest is sent for specialist cleaning and drying. On return it is carefully reassembled and sealed. The latest onboard software version is loaded, along with a full charge of the battery back to 100%. A new functionality test is run with all data recorded and uploaded to the account file on the TECH-AIR® portal.
Routine Control Price: 2 599,- Kč / 99,95 €
- Airbag Vest Cleaning - thorough cleaning of the vest, to remove all impurities, is a standard part of the Routine Control service product.
- Full Service - for after a fall, when both inflation cylinders have been deployed, a complete service intervention is required. This comprises all the elements of the annual routine control plus the replacement of the complete inflation bag, both cylinders, and any other repairs or replacements that may be required from damage in the fall.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE SERVICE ON THE AIRBAG?
After any kind of fall it is recommended to check the status of the inflation canisters in the system. On occasion it has been noted that some riders have not even been aware if the system has been deployed. To this end it is advised to do a simple check of the status by connecting the vest to the PC where it can be reported if the system is active or not. Thanks to the registration process each unit’s information is entered on the TECH-AIR® data portal, allowing the user to do this check themselves or visit one of our sales outlets where the information can be checked while you wait.
After each active season a Routine Control is highly recommended. Alpinestars require, for safety and security reasons, an interval of no more than 24 months between controls! This check must be carried out even if you have not had a crash within that period. Upon completion of the service control the 24 month period is reset.
